CHICAGO [March 16, 2016] – Nitel, a leading nationwide managed telecom service provider, today announced that it has added comprehensive security monitoring and remediation capabilities to its n-Telliguard™ suite of network security services.  The new service offering delivers a robust set of professional services and tools to complement the functionality of Nitel’s existing managed firewall offerings.

In partnership with Chicago-based cybersecurity firm Nexum, Nitel provides 24×7 oversight of key network infrastructure and security devices within customer network environments.  Leveraging a team of industry-certified security professionals, the service augments customers’ existing IT staff to perform threat detection, notification and remediation.  With real-time device log and monitoring data, Nitel can identify any anomalous, malicious or suspicious behavior and immediately forward the data to a security expert for further inspection, escalation and remediation.  Customers can also offload common maintenance tasks, such as firewall rule-set changes, patching and periodic upgrades.

The service provides customers with additional convenience and control through a robust web portal that offers insight into the operation of their environment.  Through an intuitive interface, customers can quickly access log and incident data for critical troubleshooting and retrieve real-time device trending and reporting.

According to Nitel’s vice president of Product Management Patrick Herron, “Customers will receive the benefit of a 24×7 staff keeping a watchful eye over the health and security of their network.”  He added, “When they couple Management and Monitoring Service with Nitel’s Next-Generation Managed Firewall, they will experience the best the industry has to offer in both threat prevention and remediation.”

The new service is available immediately to business customers through Nitel’s extensive agent channel.  The company will be attending the Channel Partners Conference in Las Vegas March 16-18.  Nitel sales and executive staff will be available for one-on-one meetings for the duration of the conference.
