CHICAGO — May 9, 2022— Nitel, a leading next-generation technology service provider, has been recognized by the National Association for Business Resource (NABR) as one of Chicago’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For® as part of an early round of 2022 winners.

The 2022 recognition is the twelfth consecutive year Nitel has been placed on the list. It comes after Cinven, an international private equity firm, made a significant investment in Nitel and several management changes were made late last year which have had a meaningful positive impact on employee experience, according to Nitel’s CEO Margi Shaw.

“We are very pleased with winning this award, particularly in such a transformational year for the business. We are very proud of our culture, and the new leadership team has prioritized maintaining continuity in the Nitel employee experience,” Shaw said. “We have worked hard to build a culture of success, and our employees are the biggest part of that as they have embraced and acted on what we are trying to do as an organization.”

In the months since the transaction, the company has rolled out several employee-focused initiatives and policy updates that are key to maintaining a good employee experience and moving the firm forward. Among them are increased flexibility for employees to telecommute; a restructured bonus program for all staff centered around clearly defined OKRs (objectives and key results); and the addition of two paid holidays.

“We know talking about work experience and actually doing things to affect it positively are two completely different things,” Shaw emphasized. “That’s why we’ve been working to make enhancements over the past few months and will continue to do so in the future to make Nitel a coveted place for bright minds to build their careers.”

With over 20 years of experience conducting the Best and Brightest competitions, the NABR has identified numerous best Human Resource practices and provided benchmarking for companies that continue to be leaders in employment standards.

The winning companies were assessed by an independent research firm, which reviewed a number of key measures relative to other nationally recognized winners. The categories applicants were scored in include Compensation, Benefits and Employee Solutions; Creative, Wellness and Wellbeing Solutions, Employee Enrichment, Engagement and Retention; Employee Education and Development; Recruitment and Selection; Employee Achievement and Recognition; Communication and Shared Vision; Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; Work-Life Blend; Community Initiatives and Corporate Responsibility; and Leadership, Strategy and Company Performance.

“These 2022 winning organizations have stood out during unpredictable times and have proven they are an employer of choice. They continue to keep the needs of their employees first and provide perks that include, development, wellbeing, work-life balance, rewards, and recognition. In addition these winning companies offer a fantastic work culture and workplace environment that attracts and retains superior employees,” said Jennifer Kluge, President and CEO of NABR and The Best and Brightest Program.
