Nitel, a leading nationwide managed telecom service provider, today announced the latest enhancements to its SIP trunking product. Available immediately, Nitel’s offering includes portal access for user and account administration, simplified call plans and more flexible fax services.
Through the new user portal, account administrators can manage call routing and failover, manage permissions and update e911and caller ID information on demand.
Nitel has also simplified its calling plans, offering three trunk types. Basic trunks offer unlimited inbound and metered outbound calling. Enhanced trunks provide unlimited inbound calls and unlimited local calling, with metered long distance. Unlimited trunks provide unlimited inbound, outbound local and long distance calling within the United States, Canada and select Caribbean territories. Customers can choose the best fit at each of their locations.
Also new to Nitel’s SIP Trunking offering is added flexibility around fax service. Nitel has expanded the number of ways it can provide fax service to meet the needs of various customers. Included in the offering are eFax, analog service, or fax over IP that utilizes an ATA for signal conversion to ensure delivery of complete fax transmissions.
Patrick Herron, Nitel’s vice president of Product Management, noted, “We listened to the marketplace and found that customers were hungry for control, simplicity and flexibility. We believe we were able to answer the call with these enhancements.”
The new features will be available to new SIP trunking contracts starting today. Nitel’s Channel and Executive teams will be on hand at the Channel Partners Conference in Las Vegas March 16-18 and will be available to answer questions and provide additional details.
