Chicago, IL — June 23, 2014 — Nitel, a leading nationwide managed telecom service provider, has been named by the National Association for Business Resources (NABR) to their list of the 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For™.  This marks the fourth straight year Nitel has earned honors as one of Chicago’s best workplaces.

“The selection, recognition, and awarding of this year’s companies allows our organization to showcase their best practices,” said Jennifer Kluge, NABR president.  “The honorees have clearly demonstrated why each of them would be an ideal place for employees to work. Companies that capitalize on their greatest resource — their employees — know how to attract and retain top talent.  We are proud to honor this year’s winners.”

An independent research firm evaluates each company’s entry based on key measures in various categories.  They include compensation, benefits, and employee solutions; employee enrichment, engagement, and retention; employee education and development; recruitment, selection, orientation; employee achievement and recognition; communication and shared vision; diversity and inclusion; work-life balance; community initiatives; strategic company performance, and the best of the small business.

“Nitel provides an enriching environment where employees can learn and grow,” Nitel CEO Rick Stern said.  “We offer ongoing skills training during the year as well as a tuition reimbursement program for employees who seek additional development.  We have around ten staff events each year to encourage communication and camaraderie among the staff.  We offer a number of staff awards that recognize outstanding achievement.  And employees are encouraged to give back through our work with local community organizations.  Nitel strives to empower employees to make the company their own and excel in their work.”

The winning companies will vie for 11 elite awards, one granted for each category.  An overall winner that excelled in all categories will be honored with a “Best of the Best Overall” award. The elite winners will be announced during a luncheon celebrating all nominees.  Judy Hsu from ABC 7 Chicago News and Pat Cassidy from WBBM-AM News Radio will emcee the ceremony on Monday July 21, 2014 at the Oak Brook Marriot.
