CHICAGO [June 15, 2016] – Nitel, a leading nationwide managed telecom service provider, announced today that Scott Stricklin has joined the company as its senior vice president of sales and marketing. Stricklin, a former executive at global managed service provider Masergy, will lead Nitel’s next phase of revenue growth.
As a veteran of both the telecommunications and software industries, Stricklin comes to Nitel with a track record of positive transformation of enterprise sales and channel organizations. While at Masergy, he led their explosive growth, achieved through a unique combination of sales messaging, training, partner enablement and support.
Prior to joining Nitel, Stricklin also led enterprise and channel sales organizations at Micro Focus, IBM (DataMirror) and Compuware. Earlier, he held similar executive roles at Allegiance Telecom (XO Communications) – where he ran the wholesale, national account and enterprise groups – and MFS.
Stricklin’s full area of responsibility will also include product management and marketing. Continuing the company’s recent pace of product expansion, Stricklin will lead the effort to establish points of differentiation in the marketplace through a unique set of technology services and an aggressive marketing push.
According to Nitel CEO Rick Stern, “As we expand our product portfolio to provide business customers with innovative ways to build and manage their IT infrastructure, our success will depend on providing a new level of support to the channel.” He continued, “Scott’s ability to align sales and channel strategy with marketing, product development and customer support will drive our future success and introduce exciting possibilities for our enterprise customers and channel partners.”
Stricklin added, “My top priority is to put our sales team and our partners in a position to succeed. By working together with our partners, we will make Nitel the most channel friendly carrier in the market. Arming our partners with the right tools, knowledge, strong differentiators, new products and support, we will give IT leaders every reason to want to work with Nitel.”
Specifically in the channel, Stricklin’s addition augments Nitel’s existing leadership, joining Kevin Weber and Michael Gough to galvanize its partners and grow the program.
