Chicago, IL — March 16, 2014 — Nitel, a leading managed telecom service provider, today announced an expansion to its nationwide Nitel network with two new Points of Presence (POPs). The Dallas location opened at 1950 N Stemmons Pkwy, while the Denver POP is housed at 910 15th St in the heart of downtown Denver.
The new POP locations provide additional interconnectivity points to Nitel’s nationwide IP network. They will strengthen coverage throughout the south and western U.S. with extended reach and better access to regional carriers.
Other core POP network locations include Chicago, Atlanta, New York, and Los Angeles, with future locations planned for 2014.
In addition to these latest core POPs, Nitel also recently announced a network expansion of 70,000 buildings lit with Ethernet connectivity. This brings the total number of buildings lit with competitive fiber to over 150,000 — a 51% increase in total network coverage over the previous year.
“Our continued commitment to network growth will allow us to better serve our clients’ needs, no matter where they are in the country,” COO Ron Grason said. “These additions will help us to provide customized, cost-effective solutions with lower latency and better access than ever before.”
Nitel’s IP network delivers secure, reliable services to business clients nationwide through 67 core and access POPs across the country. With a wide variety of services available — including Internet, metro Ethernet, voice, and MPLS — the Nitel network offers deep coverage and competitive pricing in both metro and rural markets.
Nitel will be attending the COMPTEL PLUS Expo March 16th – 19th at the Aria Resort in Las Vegas. Carrier Solutions Managers will be on hand to discuss Nitel’s latest network expansion and the company’s plans for 2014.
