Las Vegas, April 11, 2022 — Nitel, a leading next-generation technology service provider, today announced at the Channel Partners Conference & Expo the launch of DDoS Mitigation Services that provide customers with the ability to quickly reroute traffic during a DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack while isolating and, ultimately, shutting down the malicious traffic. The new service will be available at the end of the month.
Nitel’s DDoS offering augments its existing managed security suite, giving customers an additional way to protect their networks and defend against costly attacks. To date, Nitel’s portfolio of security solutions had included managed threat detection, managed security testing and incident response. The new service provides customers with much needed remediation capabilities for a trend in cybercrime that, according to the 2020 Corero DDoS Threat Intelligence Report, had increased by 70 per cent over the previous year.

According to the Corero Report, the average cost of a DDoS attack in the United States is around $218,000 without factoring in any ransomware costs or remediation and compensation costs. The report also showed noticeable growth in the frequency of repeat attacks, with a 68 per cent increase in organizations experiencing a second attack within a week.
