Rapid growth has created an exciting opportunity for an experienced Telecom Sales Engineer in our Chicago, IL office. As our Sales Engineer you will be the primary technical resource for the field sales force. The sales engineer, working in conjunction with the sales team, will be a key technical advisor and subject matter expert for our portfolio of services. The successful candidate will possess the ability to articulate technology and service aspects to both non-technical and technical end users. As a Sales Engineer you must be able to:
- Match applications with the unique needs of our clients and prospects
- Identify all technical issues to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle. At least 5 years' wholesale telecommunications experience
Sales Engineer Responsibilities:
- Development and delivery of service demonstrations
- Represent Nitel services to customers and at field events such as conferences, trade shows, etc.
- Ability to respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs
- Ability to convey customer requirements to Pricing and Product Management teams
- Ability to travel to Atlanta Sales Office at least quarterly and throughout sales territory as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree Required/Masters Degree Preferred
- CCNP or CCDP Certifications required. CCIE is a plus.
- Minimum of ten years experience in an IP/Access Sales Engineer role for a major telecom company
- Minimum of five years of circuit and/or IP design and build experience is required
- Expert level network protocol experience: MPLS, OSPF, TCP/IP, BGP4, VLANS/VTP
- Extensive, expert-level experience with Cisco IOS, PIX, JunOS
- Terrestrial circuit experience required (DSn, OCn, Ethernet)
- Experience with Windows and UNIX-based operating systems, including system performance tuning, security, upgrading, and day-to-day maintenance and monitoring
