Nitel is the fifth fastest-growing company in Chicago for second consecutive year
CHICAGO [June 7, 2010] – Nitel, Inc., a nationally
recognized provider of telecommunications network services, is ranked No. 5 on
the Crain’s Chicago Business Fast Fifty
list for the second consecutive year.
Nitel, also an Inc. 500 company, has been consistently named
among the fastest growing companies in Chicago and the nation based on its
financial performance over the past several years. In addition, Chief Executive
Officer Rick Stern has been named a finalist for the 2010 Ernst & Young
Entrepreneur Of the Year® Award in the Midwest.
Crain’s cited
Nitel’s five-year revenue growth of 3,337 percent in placing the company No. 5
on this year’s Fast Fifty list. Nitel’s growth is mainly a result of the company’s
focus on rural telecom services.
“In the very competitive telecommunications business, we have
made a conscious effort to focus on the harder-to-reach areas,” Stern said. “Our
staff offers deep knowledge of the telecom industry and rural connectivity to
offer customers network solutions for their unique requirements. We are proud
to once again achieve this recognition, which reaffirms the strength of our
commitment to serving our customers’ needs.”
“Our whole Nitel team contributes every day to earning this
type of accolade,” Chief Operating Officer Ron Grason added. “Within the past
year, we have refocused our sales and marketing strategies, added an account
relations management function and increased our provisioning capabilities to
continually enhance service to customers.
