Employee Spotlight: Lisa Kamins
Account Relations Manager
Experience counts when building a new customer-facing team, and Lisa Kamins brings an entire career in telecom to her role as Account Relations Manager (ARM) at Nitel.
Kamins, who joined the company in July 2009 as the first ARM, supports the existing customer base. She and Emily Freeman, the other ARM, resolve customers' questions related to accounts, billing, operational issues, service needs, pricing or any other issues.
"What's important in building this new function is to maintain the relationship with the customer and in some cases reconnect with the customer," Kamins says. "We'll keep the momentum going down the road so they know whom to contact if they ever have an issue. We want to keep an open dialogue and make sure they know we appreciate their business."
Kamins has extensive experience in the local and long distance markets as well as with resellers and facilities-based companies. At Nitel, she is learning more about carrier pricing and design.
"At the core of any customer-facing role, you have to enjoy helping people," Kamins says.
She has found Nitel, as a growing company with an entrepreneurial atmosphere, is a good place to work.
"Everybody pitches in," she says. "There are great people working here, and the leaders do a lot of nice things for the employees. They have created a real team environment."
